Director of Communications

Michael is a life-long Sunderland supporter and season ticket holder, with a very thick skin, having grown up in Newcastle. After studying Journalism at the University of Sunderland he worked as a press officer and events organiser for the Institute for Public Policy Research North (ippr north) - an independent think-tank which looks at regional and national policy issues.

After three years at ippr north Michael took the role of Director of Communications at the FSF, which shares many similarities with his work at ippr north, although there is one major difference, he now gets to talk about football in his job.
