Mike Williamson became a fully committed follower of local club Morecambe after leaving school and another interest gave him a role as Shrimps' club photographer, photographing match mascots, presentations and providing pictures for local papers.

He got involved in the revived Official Supporters club rising to Vice Chairman and, in time, helped to run supporters' away transport with a colleague.

Becoming Morecambe's rep to the NFFSC Northern Division, Mike soon became Northern Committee Pyramid Officer and was later co-opted onto the National Council. Recently, Mike was elected Northern Division co-chairman and one of two National Council Northern reps.

The Shrimps have become contenders for a League place but Mike has many memories, lots of them good, of Morecambe's climb through non-league football and of the comradeship of the pyramid, with an appreciation of its problems and how they often equate to those of League clubs.
