If you've travelled abroad with England in recent years you'll no doubt have come across our Free Lions fanzine that we hand out all over the world, and it's a similar script for the Champions League Final. We'll be out in force in Rome, making sure United fans have the safest and most enjoyable time possible. Our independent service 'by fans, for fans' ensures that you get the best advice and information going, and the above is only a glimpse at what we'll be giving out in the Piazzas of the Eternal City - there'll be articles and features, quizzes and all sorts for you to read while you soak up the sun.
One thing worth taking a note of before heading to Rome is our Fans' Embassy helpline - this is available 24 hours a day while we're in Rome, for all queries and problems. Drop us a line on +44 7956 121 314.
UPDATES THIS WEEK

- The 5 screenings organised by the Independent Manchester United Supporters' Trust (MUST) in Manchester have now all SOLD OUT. They are investigating the possibility of further venues around the country - for further details visit their website.
- Thurs 21st May - We have been informed that public transport in Rome will run until 1.30am on the night of the final, allowing fans more time to get back from the Stadio Olimpico and around Rome.
- Weds 20th May - We've received some more details from the police. It is confirmed that there are no plans for any big screens showing the Champions League Final in Rome city centre, so a lot of fans are heading to FergieFields (see 12th May update) or will have to find a friendly bar to watch it in.
- Tues 19th May - Not going to Rome? 3 of the 5 screenings of the final in Manchester organised by the Independent Manchester United Supporters Trust (MUST) have sold out. There are still tickets available for two venues at the Printworks in the City Centre, while MUST are looking at screenings in other major cities in the UK. Visit the MUST website for details on booking.
- Driving to Rome? Don't know where to park? Simply email us. Some fans have already been in touch, and we've done the leg-work on this one and have got some parking solutions for you, to save you having to search around the net for information. We're nice like that.
- Mon 18th May - It's official - the FSF have received word today from the Italian authorities that we will be operating one of our famous Fans' Embassies in Rome. Our crack team of volunteers will be out in Rome in the days leading up to the match handing out 'Away Goals', our European match fanzine, which will be packed with useful information and interesting features. We'll also be on hand to answer any questions you might have, and offer our assistance if you get into any difficulties while in Rome - we're contactable 24 hours a day. If you want to note down our number before you set off, it's +44 7956 121 314.
LAST WEEK'S UPDATES
- Friday 15th May - UEFA's Champions Festival will be taking place at the Piazza del Colosseo and the Parco del Celio around the Colosseum, starting on Saturday 23rd May until the day of the final, 27th May and will be open all day until late in the evening. There are no indications that this will have a big screen showing the match, however. The Champions Festival is more for daytime fun and games, with football exhibitions, movies, 5-a-side games and some live entertainment on stage.
- Thurs 14th May - Confirmation from the FCO that a match ticket entitles you to free public transport in Rome (metro, bus, tram) from the 26th to the 28th May. It will also allow free entry to the Musei Capitolini and the Ara Pacis.
- Tues 12th May - The most recent golden nugget of information we've gleaned from the Redsaway Blog is the festival for United fans being arranged in Rome called 'FergieFields', offering overnight stays and day passes for entertainment, featuring the likes of Pete Boyle and Mani, along with cheap ale. Check out their site for more information.
- Mon 11th May - Want to order a programme to be posted to your home address rather than rely on picking one up in Rome? Not going and want to be part of the action? Then get one here. Order by 19th May to ensure you get your copy for matchday.
