The European Championship first appeared in 1960 and has been held every four years since. However, back then Europe had fewer countries as the fragmentation of the Soviet and Balkan states had yet to occur. This meant smaller tournaments. Until 1980 only four teams qualified for any Euro finals and it wasn’t until Euro '96 that a 16 team tournament took place. Now UEFA has announced they plan to extend the Euros to 24 teams. What are your views? Is this too big and purely a money making scheme? Or only fair to allow more nations to compete? Is bigger always better?

How many teams would you like to see in the tournament?
