Fans' travel arrangements for this weekend's FA Cup semi-finals may be hit by industrial action on the travel networks. Around 140 members of the Transport Salaried Staff Association (TSSA) of the British Transport Police will be going on strike from 7am Saturday 18th April until 7am Monday 20th April, with the possibility of further action on Saturday 30 May, which would coincide with the FA Cup Final.

The walkout will hit two control centres in London and Birmingham. Staff co-ordinate the movement of football special trains on big match days and the movement of police to any potential trouble spots.

Drivers belonging to ASLEF and guards belonging to the RMT have said they would not move any trains if safety issues were not fully covered. The British Transport Police have assured the FSF that they will have as many staff in their control centres as for any other busy football weekend, and that there will be no interruptions or cause for concern for fans.
