 Tony Kempster, RIP

Tony Kempster, RIP

15th June 2009

The FSF received some very sad news this morning (Monday, June 15) as it emerged that Tony Kempster had lost a year long battle with cancer. Our condolences go to Tony’s friends and family at this time. Tony was a very well-known, and highly respected figure, due to his website www.tonykempster.co.uk.

For more than a decade the acclaimed website has been the oracle for many fans providing unmatched information on results, gates, tables, fixtures and even distances to grounds from the Premier League right down to step seven of the pyramid.

In August 2008 the FSF was proud to present Tony with our Services to Supporters award – given each year to people who have performed an outstanding service to the benefit of football supporters. It was thoroughly deserved and we were delighted Tony accepted (see pic).

At the moment we are unsure of funeral arrangements but will post any information on this page for those wishing to pay their respects. Those who knew Tony and visited his website may also like to read a superb obituary posted on the Two Hundred Percent blog.

Update - Tony's family have updated his blog with the four preferred charities that people wishing to make donations should approach.

Tony Kempster, RIP.
