England's Euro 2012 group confirmed

The draw is made, and now everything becomes much more concrete and focused, and the planning of the trips can begin – at least for the group stage games.

England are in Group D and will play:

  • France (in Donetsk on 11th June)
  • Sweden (in Kiev on 15th June)
  • Ukraine (in Donetsk on 19th June)

As usual for an international tournament involving the England team, the FSF will be running our Fans’ Embassy service, complete with the Free Lions fanzine, at every England venue next summer. But the preparation starts long before the tournament kicks off, and your FSF team have already been hard at work researching, lobbying, liaising and organising in Poland and Ukraine.

  • Over the last few weeks, we’ve been preparing, alongside our partners in Football Supporters Europe, the online fans’ guide to the Euro 2012 host cities, and that goes live today: www.2012fanguide.org.

In the next few weeks, we’ll be finishing off our own Free Lions web guide to the tournament, with its particular focus on the needs of England fans and extra detail about the venues where England will – and could – play. So, make sure you return regularly to these pages to get the very latest information available.

That will be followed in the spring by the publication of our now traditionally acclaimed tournament guide book, which will once again be available FREE to any England fan planning a trip to Euro 2012. There’ll also be information about our free text message update service, Twitter feeds and the like. Again, watch this space for details.

It’s also always well worth keeping an eye on any advice offered by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office through their Know Before You Go campaign. See their website at www.fco.gov.uk/euro2012.
