Ahead of the 2016 FSF Awards in partnership with Virgin Media next month, we’re pleased to announce the publications shortlisted for Fanzine of the Year.
Due to the variety and quality of fan-led journalism across the country, Fanzine of the Year is one of the toughest categories to produce a shortlist.
We’d like to thank the editors of all the fanzines who sent copies of their work for our consideration. It’s been tough, but we’ve managed to whittle it down to a list of six candidates
The six fanzines up for the FSF Fanzine of the Year award are:
- Duck Magazine (Stoke City)
- Highway to Hele (Torquay United)
- Popular Stand (Doncaster Rovers)
- Stand (Various)
- The Square Ball (Leeds United)
- United We Stand (Manchester United)
For the first time, we’ll also be giving out the Fans for Diversity Award – a special award to recognise the work of fans tackling discrimination and making the game more inclusive.
The shortlist for the Fans for Diversity award is as follows:
- Bangla Bantams
- Blues 4 All
- Boiler Room Ladies
- Pride in Football
- Punjabi Rams
- Saints Disabled Supporters Association
Both awards will be decided upon by an FSF panel, as will Away Day of the Year and Supporter Liaison Officer of the Year. Winners will be announced at the awards dinner on December 5th.
Nine other categories, from player to pundit to commentator, will be decided by public vote. Polls close at noon on Friday 25th November.
