The FSF’s All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Football Supporters will be meeting in Parliament next week to hear about the safe standing campaign.
Safe standing has been a hot topic over the last two weeks after the Government rejected West Bromwich Albion’s application to trial rail seating at the Hawthorns.
Since then, a petition calling on the Government to review all-seater legislation has passed 85,000 signatures.
On Tuesday May 1st, our APPG will be hearing from Ronnie Hawthorn, head of operations at Celtic FC, who will be briefing MPs on the success of the newly-installed safe standing section at Celtic Park.
Since the summer of 2016, more than 3,000 Celtic fans have used the rail seating section at the club without incident and Ronnie will be on hand to any questions or concerns MPs have.
The APPG will also be hearing from Peter Daykin, co-ordinator of the FSF’s safe standing campaign about the campaign’s national progress.
All MPs are welcome to the attend the event and we’d encourage any supporters to get in touch with their MP to see if they can make it.
