FSF Cymru quiz FAW in advance of Wembley trip

FSF Cymru is planning a meeting with the Football Association of Wales (FAW) sometime in the next few weeks. The meeting will most likely take place on Friday 29th July at 2.30pm in Cardiff. If any FSF members would like to attend email Paul Corkrey.

The agenda will cover such varied issues as the FAW membership scheme, future games, Team GB, FIFA, the new FAW magazine and website, and any other issues which affect fans who follow the Welsh national side. If you think something is missing which deserves a mention, let FSF Cymru's Paul Corkrey know.

As this meeting had been delayed there were a few questions posed by FSF Cymru that required more timely answers and immediate verification. Most of these relate to Wales upcoming Euro 2012 qualifier at Wembley against England on Tuesday 6th September 2011.

FSF Cymru would like to say a big thanks to the FAW’s Lucy Jones and Mark Evans for the responses below:

Q. Do the FAW know the allocation made available to away fans yet?
A. Our England allocation is approximately 6,500.

Q. How much will tickets cost?
A. The majority of tickets are £45 each. We have some £55 tickets in our allocation but will not sell those until the £45 tickets have all gone.

Q. Are there any concessions available?
A. We are able to nominate a block/half block as a family area; prices which are still to be confirmed. It should be £20 adults and £10 juniors.

Q. What part of Wembley are we in?
A. All will be explained on the ticket application form which will be sent to Gold and Silver members in the next 10 days or so.

Q. We presume tickets will be offered to Gold Members first, then Silver members?
A. Tickets will be available to Gold, Silver and Junior members on a one ticket per member basis as normal.

Q. If you are not already a member of Wales Supporters Club can you join the scheme at the same time as your ticket application for Wembley is sent in?
Membership of the Wales Supporters Club is still open but ideally new members need to sign up first then we can send out the ticket application form after.

Q. Will there be specific parking allocation for Welsh coaches?
There is a parking area next to the away end, members who apply for tickets will need to complete the section on the back of the form to state whether they are travelling on an organised coach so we can estimate how many will be there on the night.

Q. Will Welsh fans be kept back after the game?
A. The English FA will supply us with their standard visiting fans travel document and this will be sent out with the match tickets.

Q. Finally, what plans have you in place to sell the Montenegro and Switzerland tickets through clubs using the half price vouchers?

A. We are sending ticket info out to the clubs at the end of this week for the Montenegro and Switzerland games. Clubs will have the option to either use their 50% discount vouchers or do the ‘Kickback Scheme’ again for 25% cash back. For each match there will be two separate application forms so the clubs just need to decide what they would rather do and send in the appropriate form. Information will appear on the FAW website once the mail shot is sent out.
