 International

The FSF’s international work has evolved from the pioneering initiatives of Football Supporters' Association members at Italia ’90 into a service that has attracted commercial and government sponsorship and support, without ever losing its unique “by fans, for fans” character. The international work is now co-ordinated by Kevin Miles and overseen by the FSF's National Council.

England, home and away

Thanks to the support of the Nationwide Building Society – who are also the official sponsor of the England team – the FSF runs the Nationwide FSF Fans’ Embassy service, which provides advice, information and support service to travelling fans at the majority of England’s away games, including tournament finals, qualifiers and friendlies.

The FSF’s England fanzine, Free Lions, is produced and distributed at both home and away games, and this written material is complemented by a telephone helpline, website information, and a team of willing volunteers.

The Fans’ Embassy service provides support for ALL fans, regardless of whether or not they have FA-supplied match tickets, and is both entirely independent of all authorities and completely confidential. No information on individuals is ever passed on to police authorities.

Clubs in Europe

Of course, more British football fans travel abroad following club sides every season than with national teams, and to support them, the FSF, in partnership with other fans’ groups throughout Europe, is developing a permanent source of fans’ embassy-style information planned to be part of the FSF ground guide.

Football Supporters International (FSI)

FSI is the name given to the European-wide supporters' network launched at the first European Football Fans' Congress held at the Emirates Stadium, London in July 2008. More about this event and the subsequent development of the network is available on the FSI website, www.footballsupportersinternational.com

International campaigns

Throughout Europe, and increasingly beyond, football fans are campaigning against the same threats to our game – commercialisation, poor policing, the power of television, racism and more. The FSF is endeavouring to develop international campaigns around these international issues.
