Unirea Urziceni

Unirea Urziceni

History

The Steaua stadium, at which Unirea will play their 2008/09 Champions League matches, was completed in 1974 and has undergone a couple of renovations since.

The capacity is just over 27,500 all seater, the majority of which are uncovered.

It is also home to Steaua Bucharest, and has played host to matches of the Romanian national team.

Location of the Ground in the City

The stadium is located a couple of miles to the west of the main city centre of Bucharest, north of the main E70 road.

Getting to the Ground (By Public Transport)

The ground is served by 3 tram routes - numbers 11, 41 and 47. Tickets are cheap (€0.35) and the trams are frequent. They'll be packed in build up to kick off, however. Trolleybuses 69 and 71 pass nearby to the north of the stadium, too.
