LOSC Lille Metropole

LOSC Lille Metropole

History

Lille moved in to the Lille-Metropole Stadium in 2004 as a temporary home. Their own, purpose built stadium (Borne de l'Espoir) will not be ready for a couple of seasons yet.

The stadium was built in the 1970s and is multi-purpose (ie, there's a running track between the seats and the pitch), and holds just over 18,000 spectators, meaning that allocations for visiting fans are typically very small (only around 1000).

Below is a typical view from near away end (away fans are situated to the right of this picture):

Location of the Ground in the City

Based in the town of Villeneuve D'Ascq, some 10 minutes to the south east of Lille, the stadium is easily reachable by public transport. Taking the VAL (metro) from the city centre supporters should disembark at Pont de Bois station, from where the ground is a five minute walk to the north east along Avenue du Pont de Bois, then Avenue de la Chatellenie.

Away Supporters Information

Away supporters will be directed to the north east of the stadium, where there will be several clearly marked check points. Fans will enter via gates 18 and 19, which are marked 'Tribune Visiteurs'. The fencing that separates home from away fans does obscure the view slightly, but most of the pitch is clearly visible.

Fans should expect to be held back in the ground for around 30 minutes after the game. There will be no special transport back to Lille laid on for supporters after the game.
