The ground is located in the southern suburbs just outside the city.

Brief Club History

Politics characterized the formation of AC Omonia in 1948, just after the 2nd World War. Along with a few others, the establishment of the Club was evoked from the political turbulence of that period and the conflict between left-wings and right-wings due to the Greek Civil War.

Despite the fact that Omonias heydays didn't start before the 1970s, today the club is by far the most popular and most successful in Cyprus, calling an impressive hall of trophies their own. Amongst others, they're the only team in Cyprus who won 5 domestic doubles and the Cypriot Cup 4 times in a row.

Fans & Foes

Omonia's fans are considered to be left-wing in their majority. Today they are estimated to be around 42% of the Cypriot people.

The popularity of Omonia was one of the main reasons for the unification of Cypriot football and the acceptance of the leftist teams in the Cyprus Football Association.

There are two major fan clubs supporting the team, PA.SY.FI. and Gate 9, which is the most active and biggest fan club.

Omonia fans manage to follow their team in huge numbers and despite being based in a much smaller country, the travel efforts of the club's fanbase can easily compete with the following of many English teams when playing abroad.
