General Introduction
Set up by two Englishmen just before the turn of the twentieth century (hence the English spelling 'Milan' rather than the Italian 'Milano'), AC are the older of the two Milan sides. A dispute regarding the signing of foreign players forced the formation of city rivals Internazionale in 1908. Despite having achieved some success in the 1900s, after the split Milan would have to wait until the 1950s for their next title.
Owned by controversial politician/entrepreneur Silvio Berlusconi, the club are never far from the spotlight - most recently (and egregiously) when involved in the 2006 Serie A matchfixing scandal, which saw them deducted points, and consequently failing to qualify for the following season's Champions League.

Brief Ground Location
The stadium is located in the west end of the city, in the district of San Siro (which lends its name to the ground). Although officially renamed in honour of Guiseppe Meazza, a great of both Inter and AC Milan, it is still commonly referred to as the San Siro.
Brief Club History
AC Milan are one of the most successful club sides in Europe. With 17 domestic league titles (behind only Juventus) and seven European Cup triumphs (behind only Real Madrid), the Rossoneri have won just about every trophy possible.
They are four time World Club Champions, but strangely have never reached the final of the UEFA Cup (now Europa League) in amongst all their other glittering silverware.
Fans & Foes
Naturally, there is an intense rivalry with city neighbours Internazionale. The two clubs share the same ground, and are two of the most successful sides in Italian football history. In 2005 a derby between the two sides had to be halted after the Milan keeper Dida was struck by a flare thrown by an Inter fan.
