General Introduction
Aalborg BK (short for Boldspilklub) are the current Danish Superliga champions, and will not be unfamiliar to some British football fans – in 2008 they faced both Celtic and Manchester United in the group stages of the Champions League, ultimately finishing 3rd and qualifying for the UEFA Cup at the expense of the Glasgow side.

Brief Club History
Founded in 1885 initially as a cricket team by expatriate English engineers, Aalborg as a club has not only a football side, but also an ice-hockey and handball team as well. The football team started playing in 1902.
The club are three-times Danish Superliga champions, and have been in the top flight for over 20 years. Apart from last season’s triumph, their other title wins came in 1995 and 1999.
They've twice made the group stages of the Champions League, and this is their 5th campaign in the UEFA Cup.
They've also won the Danish Cup (Pokalturneringen) twice, in 1966 and 1970.
