Rome has a great selection of accommodation to cover every budget, but book well in advance for the cheap options.
Best Areas to Stay
Most of the less-expensive options near the station are to be found along Via Castro Pretorio, to the right as you leave the train platforms. The area can be seed but improves closer to the Colosseum
Budget Accomadation
The youth hostel YWCA (midnight curfew!) is a 10 minutes walk from Termini, located at Cia C. Balbo 4, tel 0039 6 488 3917.
Another budget option is the Ostello Delforo Italico (12.30am curfew) at Via le Delle Olimpiadi 61, Tel: +39 (0)6.324.2571, Metro: Ottaviano, then bus #32, booking via www.hostelbooking.com.
The M & J Place Hostel is above a nightclub and the adequate place if you are on a budget and not likely to get much sleep anyway. It is located at Via Solferino 9, tel. 0039 6 446 2802. Just come out of train station and to the right. Dorm beds are available from €17 pppn and double rooms from €70 per room per night.
The Fawlty Towers is near the train station at Via Magenta 39, tel. 0039 6 445 4802. Prices are per room starting at €25 for a single room and €45 for a double room.
And finally, without curfew and also just around the corner of the train station is Alessandro Palace at Via Vicenza 42, tel. 0039 6 446 1958, dorm beds available from €19 pppn and double rooms from €70 per room pn.

The Associazione Italiana Alberghi per la Gioventú at Via Cavour 44 is a head office where you can get information about all the hostels in Italy and the staff there assists you with bookings.
