The Valley is situated just off the A206, Woolwich Road in South East London. The area is a mix of residential and commercial. There is a large retail park to the north, between the ground and the River Thames, known as New Charlton.
Parking is limited in this area, although some of the outlets to the east of the ground allow parking for a charge. To the south of the ground is more residential as the land climbs away from the river and up toward Charlton Village. There are several take aways, newsagents and pubs throughout this area. Street parking is available in certain streets, although signs need to be checked as traffic wardens patrol on matchdays.
