By Train

Basingstoke Station is located in the town centre, approximately 1½ miles from The Camrose. It’s well-served by numerous direct trains from London Waterloo, (which take 43 – 75 minutes depending on which train you catch), Reading (3 an hour) and Bournemouth (direct services every half hour). more...
From the station, it is a fairly long walk up to the ground though there is also the choice of grabbing a bus or taxi if you’re a) lazy, b) incapacitated or c) arriving close to kick off. ...less

By Bus

If you don’t fancy the walk (and given those directions who could blame you!) services 1 to Hatch Warren and 3 to South Ham both go along Winchester Road near to the ground. The return fare is around £3, asking for either ‘The Camrose’ or ‘Brighton Hill Retail Park’. Both run from Basingstoke Rail Station, Alencon Link and from the bus station, stand E (bus no.1) or stand P (bus no. 3). more...

To get to the bus station from the train station, walk into Festival Place and turn left, passed JD Sports, walk passed the escalators and through the doors into the bus station. The stop for the ground is the one just after you pass B&Q. The journey should take around 10 - 15 minutes depending on traffic.

Following these directions, you may start to think that Basingstoke is simply a confusing network of roundabout after roundabout, and guess what, you’d be right! If you’re not familiar with the area you’re likely to go wrong several times before you reach your destination, so it’s worth allowing extra time just in case. more...

From the M3, exit at Junction 7 onto the A30 following the dual carriageway and going straight ahead at the mini roundabout until the large Brighton Hill roundabout. Take the second exit onto Western Way before making a right turn after 50 yards in to the club car park.

From the M4, (take a deep breath), leave atJunction 11 following the A33 towards Basingstoke, going straight ahead at the two small roundabouts and continuing on to the single carriageway, over yet another small roundabout, through two sets of traffic lights and back on to the dual carriageway. Follow this road up to the large roundabout, taking the 3rd exit and continuing on the dual carriageway up to the next roundabout with the Red Wavy Men on it, taking the first exit.

At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit on to the ring road signed towards the M3. When you reach the next roundabout, stay in the right hand lane and take the 3rd exit on to the A30 and then straight across at the next roundabout.

At the next roundabout, take 1st exit continuing on the A30. As you drive up the carriageway you'll see the ground and Main Stand on the right. At the next roundabout, take the 5th exit into Western Way - the ground car park is 50 yards on the right.

If you’re travelling from Newbury on the A339, follow the single carriageway as you enter Basingstoke and continue straight across at the mini roundabout. Follow the dual-carriageway up to large roundabout and take the 2nd exit on to the A30 and continue following the A30 at the next roundabout you reach. At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit (again staying on the A30) and you should be able to see the ground on your right. At next roundabout, take the 5th exit into Western Way - the Camrose car park is 50 yards on the right.

The car park gets full depending on the opposition around 20 – 30 minutes before kick off so if you are arriving with little time to spare, our advice is to use the free public car park opposite the ground. If you are cutting it fine travelling from the M3, don’t take the 2nd exit into 'Western Way' but go straight over the large roundabout and get into the RIGHT HAND SLIP LANE as you pass the 'Main Stand' on your left. Turn RIGHT at the traffic lights at McDonalds. Follow the road round, park and walk back over the pedestrian crossing and into the ground's 'Winchester Road' gate to the left of the main stand. Alternatively, if coming from the M4, after taking the 1st exit (A30) from the last roundabout, keep in the LEFT HAND LANE past 'B&Q' on the left and FILTER LEFT as you approach the traffic lights with McDonalds' on the corner. Follow the road round and park your car, use the pedestrian crossing and use the ground's 'Winchester Road' gate to the left (as you face it) of the main stand. ...less

Other Ways To Get There

By Air

Both Southampton International and Heathrow are within around 30 miles of Basingstoke. However there are some nice private aiirfields far closer if you're coming in by your own private jet. more...

By Taxi

The journey by taxi from the station takes around 5 to 10 minutes with the rank located on your left as you exit usually filled with hackney cabs. The fare up to the ground shouldn’t cost anymore than £5. If you’d rather call a taxi than pay the prices of hackney cabs,  there are a couple of private hire firms in the town including A.B.C Taxi’s on tel. 01256 465000 or Alpha Cars on tel. 01256 844444.

By Foot

From the station the walk up to the ground will take around 35 minutes at a fairly leisurely pace.

Leave the station concourse and walk down the steps, crossing the road, into the shopping centre and Festival Place, leaving via the set of doors between Madhouse and Claire's Accessories. Keep walking past the Woolwich and McColl's newsagents up the hill past the Haymarket Theatre until you reach the open area and pedestrianised streets. Stage 1 complete – you deserve your Level 3 Advanced Orienteering badge.

From here, take the second street on your right passed Basingstoke Service Centre and Chicago's and continue until the traffic lights. Keep going straight until you reach the fork in the road, taking the left turn into Winchester Road. When you reach the roundabout, use the underpass to cross and carry on along Winchester Road, passing B&Q. You should be able to see the Main Stand of The Camrose as you approach (what…no sign of any football stand, but you can see Liverpool Street Station in the distance? Go back to ‘Start’. Do not pass go. Do not collect £200). If, however, you can see the wonderful sight of the Camrose, carry on past the Main Stand and you’ll eventually come to a small opening which leads to the main car park and the turnstiles. ...less
