Trans-Pennine trains run direct from Manchester Airport every 2 hours (Northern services from Lancaster or Preston run in between) taking around 2 and a quarter hours. If travelling from further south, take Virgin West Coast trains to Preston or Lancaster then Trans-Pennine or Northern services to Barrow. From Preston services run to Barrow every hour, taking around 1and a quarter hours and roughly the same from Lancaster, (around the hour mark) though there can be gaps of 90 minutes between trains at certain times of the day.
From Yorkshire, trains run direct from Leeds to Carnforth where you can change for Barrow via Trans-Pennine Express or Northern in under an hour.
On leaving the station, turn right into Holker Street – the ground is approximately half a mile or 5 – 10 minutes walk away.
By Bus
National Express services run to Kendal then Stagecoach services into Barrow. Alight opposite the railway station and turn right after into Holker Street on the same side of the road as the station – the ground is half a mile away.
By Car
From most parts of the country: M6 or A65 to Junction 36 then A590 to Barrow
From the Lake District: A592 to Newby Bridge then A590 to Barrow
From West Cumbria: A595, A591 and A590 to Barrow (or to reverse the directions once given in the club programme for an away game at Workington – keep the sea on the right and the sheep on the left).
The A590 brings you in to Barrow past the South Lakes Wildlife Park near Dalton - watch for lions, rhinos, giraffe - then into an industrial area with Kimberley Clarks soft tissue factory and other industrial compexes and past the former 'slag-bank', testimony to the town's industrial legacy - iron-making led to steel-making and then the ship and submarine-building in which the town is a world leader. The ground’s floodlights can be seen to the left two miles after the borough boundary sign. When you reach the fire station, the ground should be approaching on your left. If you find yourself passing the entrance to Asda – you’ve gone too far!
There is ample car parking available on the streets 200m to the south of the ground or on the streets 400m to the east of the ground.
