Brief Ground Location
The ground is less than a mile northwest of the town centre, just off the A590 on the way in to town. It is situated between an industrial area (the former ‘Hoopworks’ of Barrow Steelworks, now closed) and a retail park, built on the site of the former Barrow Brickworks.
The railway north from Barrow, now known as the Cumbrian Coast Line, is on the opposite side of Holker Street. Most walking routes from the town centre take you through traditional terraced streets, typical of northern industrial towns and with houses that are generally well cared-for.
The stadium address is given as Wilkie Road, which on some maps simply doesn’t exist. In fact, Wilkie Road connects the A590 Walney Road with Holker Street, before becoming Devonshire Road. Many mapping sites, however, still call the whole road Devonshire Road. The ground runs from midway along Wilkie Road to the junction of Holker Street.
