Where To Stay
There is a fairly good choice of places to stay in the surrounding area.
There are the odd B+B’s around and in Welling High Street that you can turn up on the day and book (or in advance), but this is highly unrecommended as most of them are dirty, and very unhygenic, but if you don’t mind that (?), then go ahead and book up in one of them as they are cheap, but please don’t have any of the food that they have on offer!
As always, there are several chain hotels including the budget chain Travelodge with hotels at Dartford, just under 7 miles from Welling and London Docklands, just under 6 miles away. If you have slightly bigger budget, you also have the option of the Holiday Inn in Bexley, around 2 miles away, or, closer still, The Marriott in Bexleyheath which is only a mile away.
When looking at places for an overnight stay, we'd recommend Booking.com and Hotels.com. Obviously the larger the town the more choice there'll be, but these are two very good starting points. It may also be worth checking out Laterooms, who often have some bargains at cheaper rates than other sites.
If you're looking for something close to the ground, then you can find the stadium postcode on the 'About the Stadium' page, before searching.
Worried as to whether your place will turn out to be more like the pits than the Ritz? Then TripAdvisor is the place to go. It's full of independent reviews of hotels throughout the country (and, indeed, all over the world) so you can get a better feel for what people who have stayed in the hotel have had to say about it, and whether you should make that booking or look elsewhere.
Lastly, if budget is an issue, then hostels and B&B's can be found via Hostelbookers and Hostelworld, who provide comprehensive information on all of their accommodation, including reviews from guests.
