By Air
British Airways, XL and Caribbean Airlines all fly from the UK.
Piarco International Airport is located 25 km (15.5 miles) east of Port of Spain. Facilities include a tourist office, duty-free shops, car rental booths, ATMs, fast-food restaurants. There is also a place to store luggage for TT$5 per piece of luggage per day which saves you having to lug it around from pillar to post. The currency exchange office inside the terminal is open 6am - 10pm.
Most people get to Tobago by taking the 20-minute flight from Trinidad, although several airlines now offer direct flights from Europe. Crown Point International Airport serves Tobago, located 11 km (7 miles) southwest of Scarborough. Crown Point is similar to Tobago itself: small, relaxed and rarely rushed so be prepared to queue!
It is possible to fly to other Caribbean destinations and fly in to Tobago for the game, but whether this is cheaper or not would depend on where you intend to fly to and your length of stay. There are several inter-Caribbean airlines including LIAT and Caribbean Airlines (formerly BWIA).
There is a regular service, or air bridge, between Trinidad & Tobago with the first of roughly 12 daily flights leaving Piarco International Airport at 6am. This service is run by Caribbean Airlines. Flights on the air bridge cost US$ 24 one way (US$48 return). You can purchase tickets online here or at the airport counter. You need to check-in at least one hour before departure.
Departure Tax
A departure tax of TT$ 100.00 must be paid by everyone when leaving the islands. (This does not apply when travelling between the two islands).
Getting from airport to city centre
By Bus
A special service runs from Crown Point International Airport to various points around the island every 30 minutes (Mon-Fri) and every hour at weekends. Details of stop-off points are displayed at the bus stop at the airport.
By Taxi
A taxi from Piarco Airport to Port of Spain will cost around US$ 20 (TT$120) and is by far the easiest way to get to town. Alternatively, take an Arouka route taxi (found to the left outside the terminal) and get off at Eastern Main Road (TT$2); from here, catch a red-stripe Maxi Taxi to Port of Spain (TT$4).
By Ferry
Is it possible to travel by ferry? The Port Authority of Trinidad & Tobago (PATT) manages a daily ferry service providing transport for passengers, vehicles and cargo between Port of Spain and Scarborough. Services on board the vessels include dining and bars. PATT operate two fast ferries - the T & T Express and the T & T Spirit. The crossing takes approx 2½ hrs. Return tickets cost TT$100 (approx US$16) for the fast ferry and TT$75 (approx US$12) for a place on board the conventional vessel. The cost of transporting a vehicle incurs a separate charge based on the type, model, size and weight. Tickets for vehicles cannot be purchased online but can be bought at the following locations:
* Government Shipping Service Terminal, Wrightson Road, Port of Spain (opposite the Central Bank Towers)
* Tobago Terminal Office, Scarborough, Tobago
* Selected TTPost outlets
For schedules, fares, ticket outlets etc see the Port Authority of Trinidad & Tobago.

You must be aged over 25 to rent a car on Tobago, and daily rates can be higher than on Trinidad. Petrol stations are sparsely scattered around the island, so it’s wise to fill up before doing extensive touring.
As in the UK, cars drive on the left on T&T, and cars are usually right-hand drive. To drive, you will need a valid International Drivers permit. This permit is valid for 90 days after arrival.
In the cities and towns, petrol stations are located on main thoroughfares, but are scarce in rural areas. On the road, local drivers, particularly taxi drivers, use hand signals to indicate turning, stopping or slowing. Although many drivers are courteous, visitors are advised to be attentive when driving as some locals are known to bend the traffic regulations. Other information. A litre of petrol costs approx TT$ 3 for Premium Unleaded. Car rentals start at about TT$ 300, including insurance and unlimited mileage
