Introduction to Moscow

Champions League Final
Manchester United v Chelsea
Wednesday 21st May

We all know Russia for Vodka, Cossack hats and Rocky IV, but we must also point out a few other things.

Have a look at the General Travel Information section and the FCO website for advice on visa requirements, local customs and safety and security specifically.

It should be a good trip but given the experiences from the England game there last year, we know that there is the potential for loads of things to go wrong, so make sure you take all the necessary precautions which should help you avoid many of the most common pitfalls.

As an illustration though that this venue is not quite like all the others, it’s the first city that hosted an England game where we were not allowed to operate our Nationwide FSF Fans’ Embassy in the usual way, with a liveried vehicle parked up in a prominent city centre location, complete with the Nationwide flag. We finally had a FSF Fans’ Embassy base in the lobby of the Golden Ring Hotel, which is not far from the top of the Old Arbat street.

We’ll also organise a fans’ embassy for supporters travelling to the game. As soon as we know all details (location, helpline number, etc) we’ll put it on this page and let you know where to find us, so keep checking back!

Apart from that and as usual, you’ll find all sorts of useful information that we put together for your trip to Moscow by following the relevant links!
