Accomodation

We often warn that accommodation is overpriced, in Moscow we are talking upwards of £250 per night for a decent room. There are no ‘budget’ type hotels that are usually seen in Europe. Hostels are the best value at around €10-€25 per night, as well as being safer and cleaner than many of the more expensive hotels. You should reserve rooms up to four weeks in advance.

G & R Hostel Asia, Zelenodolskaya ul 3/2 Tel: 095 378 0001 Dorms €18. Only a short metro ride away from city centre.

Hostel Snail, Selskokhozyaistvennaya ul 15/1, Tel: 095 795 2335. Dorms €16.

Travellers Guest House, Bolshaya Pereyaslavskaya ul 50. Tel: 095 631 4059. Dorms €21.

Godzillas Hostel, Bolshoi Karetnyy 6 Tel: +7 495 699 4223 located near to local bars and restaurants, about a 25 minute walk from the Kremlin.

Napoleon Hostel, Maly Zlatoustinskiy 2 Tel: +7 495 628 6695- excellent location in the city centre.

Moscow has two motels/campsites. Neither is close to the centre of town and both are insecure - and likely to be absolutely freezing in mid October.

Most of the main hotel booking sites offer hotels in teh city, though there are few showing availability for the night of the match - and even fewer within most people's budget!

Some alternative hotel search sites include Hotels Moscow, Hostel World, Ost West and Cheap Moscow.
