Important transport and social events information for delegates

Important transport and social events information for delegates

Assuming that you've come to this page because you've registered for Fans' Parliament and are looking for some further information, thanks for registering for FP2010. We hope you’re looking forward to it as much as we are! See below for a bit more information and a few details about the weekend’s events, including news on transport disruption, social events and accommodation options if you're travelling for further afield.

Getting to Fans’ Parliament

You should arrive at the main Club Wembley entrance on the ground level, below the statue of Bobby Moore and at the end of Wembley Way. Please try to get there as soon after 9.15am as possible, to give plenty of time to pick up your delegate badge and conference pack and to grab some refreshments before the main conference session opens at 10am.

Unfortunately, the Travel Gods have not been kind to us, and TFL are reporting that the two main tube lines to Wembley Park (the Jubilee and Metropolitan lines) are both closed on July 24th with replacement bus services in operation. But the Bakerloo Line to Wembley Central, and surface trains from Euston to Wembley Central and from Marylebone to Wembley Stadium are unaffected. Please check your travel plans carefully on www.tfl.gov.uk and/or www.nationalrail.co.uk. There's more on how accessible each station is in relation to Wembley here on the Wembley Stadium website.

There is car parking at Wembley, at a cost of £18 per day (we’ve tried to do a deal, but it’s run by an outside company, not Wembley themselves). If you need disabled car parking, let us know and we’ll sort this out.

Conference is scheduled to end at approximately 5.30pm.

Social Events

As always, the weekend isn’t just about the conference sessions, there are social activities to help everyone get to know each other and to network.

On the evening of Friday July 23rd we’ll be having an informal welcome reception in the Wembley Plaza Hotel.  Drop in and say “hello”, meet other supporters, and kick-off the weekend over a game of table football or even Subbuteo – do you remember how to flick to kick? We’ll have light snacks available and the bar will be open - we’d love to see you at any time between 6pm and 9pm.

Then, on the Saturday evening, we round off the day with a social and light-hearted football quiz, from 7pm to 9pm. Come and show everyone how much – or how little – you know about football. You don’t need to be part of a team, as there’ll be plenty of people looking to make teams up on the night, and again we’ll have light snacks available. We’re giving a couple of free drinks from the bar to everyone who’s told us they’re coming, so make sure you click the link below so we know to give you your vouchers.

Help us to help you

Please take a moment to fill in this very quick survey so we can get an idea of the numbers coming to these social events (we’d hate to run out of food!) and to help us make sure that we give you the right voting papers for the elections. Please just click here to answer some very quick questions.

Questions?

If you have any questions about any aspect of Fans Parliament, please drop us an email and we’ll do our best to answer them as quickly as possible.

If you're looking at accommodation options, there are a number of local hotels which you may like to consider using, prices of course vary:
