Anyone attending Fans' Parliament needs to register in advance. This helps us work out things like venue layout and the amount of packs we need to print off. It also lets you choose which of the workshop sessions you wish to attend - club governance and ownership, policing and stewarding, or safe standing.
While Fans' Parliament is free of charge it's vital that all delegates register. If we don't know you're coming how will we know how many sandwiches to order?! Let's be honest - no one likes to debate on an empty stomach.
Just a quick explanation on further timings and breakout sessions. Click here for a detailed agenda, Fans' Parliament kicks off at 10am (we'd appreciate it if you could arrive for registration from 9.15am) with the Chair's welcome being followed by a keynote speech from our guest speaker.
We'll then split into individual groups to discuss the issues which interest us most in the breakout sessions, lunch will also be provided. These breakout groups will allow delegates to investigate, debate and recommend FSF policy across a range of issues. This gives everyone the chance to have their say, rather than the old format of 300 people in a room all fighting to get a word in. The sessions will then reconvene to the main hall and propose motions which are then voted on and passed/rejected as FSF policy.
The workshops will cover :
- Financial regulation and club governance. In the year that the finances at Portsmouth FC and the ownership of Liverpool and Manchester United have been the subject of intense media interest, and we’ve also lost Chester City and many other clubs, can we really go on this way without proper financial regulation and club governance?
- Policing, stewarding and criminalisation of supporters. In the past 12 months the FSF has won several notable legal battles on behalf of supporters, not least victories for groups fighting inappropriate use of Section 27 by police forces. But still supporters are routinely treated like criminals by police and stewards. Have we had enough of this – and what can we do about it if we have?
- Safe Standing. The campaign goes on to give supporters the choice of whether to stand or to sit at matches. What are the latest developments and what else can supporters do to hasten the introduction of the type of safe standing areas that German supporters enjoy.
When registering, please let us know which breakout session you’d like to attend. That's one and one only, please.
There'll be more info to come on social events and entertainment over the weekend but if you want a behind the scenes tour of Wembley Stadium on the Sunday morning please let us know this when you register. We’ll then pop you an email back to let you know how to pay the £10 fee for this.
