Sometimes, you’d almost think that football fans must belong to the most evil creatures in the world – given the security measures and long lists of prohibited of items around a matchday, banning orders, random drug checks, the prohibition of standing areas in the Premier League and the international competitions, iron fenced cages for away fans’ sections abroad, the multimedia hooligan hysteria before every major international tournament...
...yes, sometimes it’s hard to believe that the vast majority of us are actually nothing more than passionate supporters which want nothing more but to be valued by their clubs and follow their team by being able to show all the positive facets of fan culture rather than being perceived mainly as a problem...
We don’t want to deny that there is or was violence and/or discriminatory behaviour in football caused by football fans – but hasn’t it been a tiny minority of offenders for years whereas the measures to counter it still affect and restrain almost every football fan in this country?
Partly, it is therefore very “easy” for a football fan to get into trouble, find yourself being prosecuted and/or banned from your passion.
No matter, whether the accusations are justified or unjustified, the FSF has been giving advice to football fans for years now and can offer you assistance and support in case you need it.
