Southern Division covers a large geographical area, stretching from East Anglia down to the South Coast and including London and the Home Counties and the Thames Valley. We meet quarterly on a Sunday, usually in September, November/December, February and April and try to spread our meetings around the region. In the past year we have met at Kingsmeadow (Kingston upon Thames), Wickford in Essex and at Portsmouth. We have a number of "regulars" who attend most of the meetings but we are always pleased to welcome new faces.
Some while back, a successful evening meeting was held in London and this is something we may arrange again in the future, as we are conscious of the fact that a lot of our members are London based. A couple of years ago, we held a "football policing forum" at Aldershot which was well attended by Southern Division members and representatives of the police.
As well as the usual formal business, our meetings provide the opportunity to meet and socialise with other FSF members, both from supporters clubs/trusts and individuals. There is always the opportunity to discuss any specific club problems and to give your views on the various issues on which FSF is campaigning, e.g. "Safe Standing" or "No to Game 39" and other matters affecting football and its supporters. At our most recent meeting, discussion topics included the role of the police in football and player discipline.
